simile poems

we did simile poems and my poem ended up looking like a cupcake. it even has the word cupcake in it.here it is.

Junk Food
Pizza or burger, big mac or fry
If you eat them all day your as dead as pie
For there not good for your body you see, you see
You’re bigger and bigger, like a fatty but not me
I’ll have a fresh salad with no ranch on top
Just like an animal with no farm or crop
There better for you, there better for me
Like icing is good on a cupcake, yummy.

thanksgiving poems

this is our thanks giving poems
Turkey
By: Ammon#4
Do you have a family member that goes gobble, gobble,
Do you plan to eat turkey until you wobble, wobble;
What if your brother ate the turkey whole,
What if the turkey ran away and there’s nothing in your bowl;
Well I ate all of your turkey,
I ate the turkey whole;
And now there is no turkey,
Not even in a bowl;

Grand parents
By: Ammon#4
Do you have a grandparent who is 900 yrs old,
Are they really strong or really, really bold;
Yea, there probably not I know,
They can’t lift a 10 pound weight;
But do you know there history,
If not just stay and wait;
There history is old I know,
They lived when the pilgrims roamed;
But that is why there special,
That is why in history its them you want to phone;

we made a poem

and this is it

My poem
Dogs and cats
And wingless bats,
And pigs and men
And a hen,

All animals of earth you see
Now what else could there be?

A cow, a sow
A kid, a goat
But sadly not a big fat boat

Any thing else on earth
Any thing else that was of birth
Any creature of the this land
Anything in the sand

In the water in the sea
Bring these creatures unto me

Poems

We did a unit on poetry and this is what I wrote.

We read Love That Dog by Sharon Creech.
Poetry is slow catchy words. I’m not a fan of poetry. I don’t dislike poetry.
Pause #1: He can do poetry but he doesn’t like people to notice. He is okay with it on the board but he doesn’t want people to know.
Pause #2: He has a dog but doesn’t want to write about it. He writes about it but he is still anonymous.
Pause #3: He is really, really good at poetry. Every one wants to know who is writing this awesome stuff but he is still anonymous.
Pause #4: He is OK with people knowing it’s him but now there is a new person being anonymous. They play with his dog.
Pause #5: He wants his favorite author to go to school. He forgets about it thinking he will never come.
Pause #6: He learned that the computer had spell check and he learns to type. He types a sad poem.
End: He meets his favorite author. He writes to his author and writes a poem about his dog.

Jack was inspired by his favorite author Water Dean Myers but also he is inspired by his animals and other things around him.

My attempt:                                           tip
                                                            Roof roof       chimney
                                                  Roof roof roof roof chimney
                                           Roof roof roof roof roof roof
                                    Roof roof roof roof roof roof roof roof
                                       Wall wall wall wall wall wall wall
                                        Wall wall wall door wall wall wall
                                        Wall wall wall door wall wall wall

Cheetahs

Cheetah Information

How many animals have spots? 0h, oh, I know one, a cheetah. Thud, thud, thud, look a real cheetah. Yes it is a cheetah, what you’ve never seen one, well I think I have a good description. Here it is!

How much do you know about cheetahs? Cheetah in Latin is Acinonyx Jubatus. They usually weigh 110-140 lbs and are 115-135 centimeters long. It’s a mammal! It has yellowish-brown fur, with black spots on it. Did you know that!

Things happen inside their body too. For instants it has large passages through the nose so that it can breathe. Cheetahs give birth to 1-5 babies or cubs and they’re born alive. They live in Africa and travel by foot.

            Cheetahs are all so very different. They are warm blooded and migrate. Cheetahs are carnivores and can out run any thing. They are endangered because they are often being poached. That is about every thing I know about cheetahs.

            Now you may have never seen a cheetah but at least you know something about cheetahs. Now what animal has spots? That’s right a cheetah, and look here thud, thud, thud, the cheetah gone.
